Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Accounting and Regulatory Reporting Manager will play a crucial role in Coinbase Canada's financial and regulatory reporting function. As the org-level leader and primary Finance authority, you will define the target-state operating model, shape Coinbase's external regulatory posture with Canadian regulators, and scale the function through talent development, process architecture, and automation. This is a high-visibility role that requires a deep understanding of IFRS and Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory reporting or finance, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in a senior management or leadership role. You will be responsible for owning the strategy and roadmap for Coinbase Canada's financial and regulatory reporting function, defining target-state operating models, data standards, and end-to-end processes for Form 31-103F1, CIRO Form 1, and all OSC/CIRO filings.

The role will involve close collaboration with senior management and executive stakeholders, including Tax, Treasury, Legal, COO, CCO, and the Board, to ensure capital adequacy, liquidity management, and regulatory alignment across Coinbase Canada. You will also be responsible for driving the automation and AI-first transformation of reporting cycles, defining principles and patterns for how reporting workflows are built, documented, evolved, and governed.

What You Will Do

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for Coinbase Canada's financial and regulatory reporting function
  • Define target-state operating models, data standards, and end-to-end processes for Form 31-103F1, CIRO Form 1, and all OSC/CIRO filings
  • Shape Coinbase's external posture with Canadian regulators by serving as the primary Finance representative in regulatory examinations, inquiries, and filings
  • Set standards for the IFRS books of account, including parallel ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and adjustment documentation
  • Lead and influence senior management and executive stakeholders to ensure capital adequacy, liquidity management, and regulatory alignment
  • Drive the automation and AI-first transformation of reporting cycles
  • Develop and scale the function by setting talent expectations, building succession depth, mentoring team members, and leading outsourced service provider oversight with KPI/SLA accountability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of financial and regulatory reporting
  • Provide expertise and guidance on complex regulatory reporting issues

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in regulatory reporting or finance at a bank, fintech, securities dealer, investment dealer, financial regulatory agency, or professional services firm
  • 5+ years of direct ownership of regulatory filings for a Canadian securities regulator
  • CPA or equivalent designation required
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS and Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to design and improve reporting processes end-to-end
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in talent development and process architecture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and the Board
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CIRO Form 1 or similar dealer capital adequacy filings
  • Knowledge of Canadian securities regulatory reporting requirements, including NI 31-103 and Form 31-103F1
  • Experience with automation and AI-first transformation of reporting cycles
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaborative workflows
