About the Role

The Senior Accounting Manager role at Milo's Tea Company is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise in financial statement reporting, internal control frameworks, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). As a key member of the accounting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, as well as providing technical guidance on complex accounting matters. You will work closely with the external auditors to ensure close collaboration on technical accounting guidance and adequacy of internal controls.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial statement reporting
  • Prepare reports that present key insights, trends, and variances to company leadership
  • Lead the research and interpretation of complex accounting topics and transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Provide technical guidance on various accounting matters including revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, business combinations, and other relevant topics that arise
  • Interface with the external auditors to ensure close collaboration on technical accounting guidance and adequacy of internal controls
  • Support leadership by undertaking assignments on ad hoc reporting, projects, and other initiatives as needed
  • Develop and implement an internal control framework to minimize financial risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure seamless execution of accounting functions

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a leadership role
  • Expertise in Excel and financial statement reporting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Experience with external auditors and internal controls
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis
  • Knowledge of accounting software and systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero
  • Certification in accounting, such as CPA or CMA
  • Experience in a similar industry, such as food and beverage
