Job Description
About the Role
As a Senior Accounting Manager at First Due, you will play a critical role in driving the company's financial infrastructure forward. You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing accounting team, driving process improvements through technology, and ensuring corporate compliance. With a focus on scalability and automation, you will own the finance system ecosystem, including NetSuite, Ramp, and Navan. Your expertise in accounting technologies and integrations will be essential in eliminating manual processes, reducing errors, and accelerating reporting timelines.In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Controller, and will be responsible for managing the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process. You will also partner with the Data/Engineering team to build reliable data pipelines between financial systems and the company's broader data infrastructure. As a strategic finance leader, you will drive a measurable reduction in close timeline and ensure the completeness and accuracy of SaaS-specific accounting.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the finance system owner for the automated Procure-to-Close (P2C) platform
- Evaluate, select, and lead implementation of new accounting technologies and integrations
- Design and maintain automated workflows for accounts payable, expense management, revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations
- Own system configuration, user access management, and ongoing optimization of NetSuite
- Partner with the Data/Engineering team to build reliable data pipelines
- Manage the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting packages
- Develop and maintain a detailed close calendar with clearly assigned owners, deadlines, and dependencies
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of SaaS-specific accounting
- Lead, mentor, and scale a growing accounting team
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a SaaS or tech company
- Expertise in HubSpot and Salesforce
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including ASC 606 revenue recognition
- Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, and Navan
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience with automated accounting workflows and integrations
- Knowledge of data pipeline development and management
- Certification in accounting, such as CPA or CMA
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
