Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the Role

In this role, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, design and implement solutions, and measure the impact of their work. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a drive to learn and grow.

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be working in a remote-first environment, which requires strong self-motivation, discipline, and the ability to thrive in a distributed team setting.

What You Will Do

• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform client strategies
• Develop and maintain robust models that drive business decisions and optimize outcomes
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and deliver exceptional results
• Contribute to new business efforts by identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and presenting to potential clients
• Participate in the broader community by sharing knowledge, expertise, and best practices with colleagues and peers
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data models, model documentation, and other relevant materials
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including training, mentoring, and feedback
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes that increase efficiency, quality, and productivity

What We Are Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in health actuarial roles, with a strong foundation in data analysis and modeling
• Progress towards ASA or FSA designation, with at least one exam passed
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with advanced skills in data analysis and modeling
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues

• Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment
• Strong self-motivation, discipline, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects

Nice to Have

• Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R
• Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure
• Certification in data science or analytics, such as Certified Data Scientist or Certified Analytics Professional
