About the Role
The Senior Analytics Engineer position at Reddit is a key part of the Data Science organization, focusing on the Sales and Marketing domain. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will work closely with data scientists and cross-functional teams to develop and deploy data and analytic tooling that drives business growth. Your primary responsibility will be to curate, develop, and deploy the right data and analytic solutions to support Reddit's business objectives. Reddit is a community-driven platform with over 100,000 active communities and 126 million daily active unique visitors. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be working with large datasets to identify trends, optimize business processes, and inform data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of understanding the purpose of data in supporting business goals and can act as an effective conduit between data producers and data consumers.What You Will Do
- Be the Analytics Engineering lead within the Sales and Marketing organization, contributing to the success of Data Science data quality, performance, and automation initiatives.
- Architect and improve the collection of underlying data, creating ETLs, reporting dashboards, data aggregations, and other deliverables needed for business tracking, advertiser outreach, and acquisition.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows for data ingestion, processing, and transformation, ensuring the quality and reliability of these data pipelines.
- Create user-friendly tools and applications for internal use across Data Science and cross-functional teams, streamlining data analysis and reporting processes.
- Lead transformational efforts to build a data-driven culture at Reddit by enabling data self-service.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, coaching, and/or training to data scientists and other technical partners.
- Serve as a thought partner for data scientists, engineering managers, and leadership on data foundations, communicating and shaping the data foundations roadmap and strategy for Reddit.
What We Are Looking For
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, operations research, or computer science.
- Proven experience in analytics engineering, data science, or a related field, with a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, with the ability to communicate complex data insights effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and experience working with machine learning frameworks.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
