As a key member of the Global Safety and Security team, you will be instrumental in reimagining how physical security integrates into every employee and guest interaction, ensuring environments that are safe, welcoming, and confident.

Day-to-day, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Security Enablement Engineering team and Workplace partners, to execute strategic projects and implement integrated systems that enhance security while aligning with company-wide priorities and user experience goals. Your ability to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and day-to-day execution will be crucial in driving the end-to-end delivery of initiatives and ensuring that scalable systems enhance trust and efficiency across corporate environments.

The role is set within the context of DoorDash's evolving workplace experience, where the company is committed to creating environments that are not only secure but also inclusive and efficient. As such, your contributions will not only impact the security posture of the organization but also influence the overall employee experience and the reputation of the brand.

What You Will Do

  • Execute strategic projects that transform physical security solutions for employees and guests globally.
  • Support the deployment and configuration of automated systems, including access control, visitor management, and emergency response technology.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Workplace, IT, Legal, and HR to ensure security workflows align with company-wide priorities and user experience goals.
  • Conduct research and help build business cases for new security vendors, tools, and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain and update global standards for physical security systems to ensure consistency in user experience across all office locations.
  • Collect and analyze data from security systems and employee feedback to report on program effectiveness and KPIs.
  • Assist in running pilot programs and design sprints, incorporating stakeholder feedback to iterate on security processes.
  • Coordinate operations as the central point of contact for project-specific coordination between operations, engineering, and site-level teams.
  • Evaluate and test technology to identify best practices and areas for improvement in physical security.
  • Support the development of training programs to ensure that all stakeholders understand and can effectively use new security systems and technologies.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in program coordination, physical security operations, or technology-focused project management, with a minimum of 3-5 years.
  • A proven track record of supporting or leading complex initiatives involving technology implementation and stakeholder coordination.
  • Systematic thinking with the ability to break down complex processes into clear, actionable workflows and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical security requirements for non-technical partners.
  • Hands-on experience with physical security technology, such as access control, visitor management, or identity systems.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and be comfortable with adapting to new situations and challenges.
  • User-centric mindset, believing that security should be a seamless, inclusive part of the employee experience.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to draw insights from data to inform security decisions.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies to effectively coordinate projects and timelines.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in security management or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools, enhancing the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in physical security, allowing for the identification of opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, given DoorDash's global presence and the potential for international collaboration.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive compensation package, reflecting the importance of this role to DoorDash's operations and growth.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development, with access to training and education resources.
  • Flexible, remote work arrangements, allowing for a balance between work and personal life.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, ensuring that employees and their families are well cared for.
  • Generous PTO and holiday package, recognizing the need for rest and relaxation.
  • Access to the latest technologies and tools, facilitating innovation and efficiency in work.
  • Participation in DoorDash's equity program, providing a stake in the company's success.
  • Dedicated support for mental health and wellness, promoting a culture of care and understanding.

How to Stand Out

  • Tip: Ensure your resume and cover letter highlight specific examples of your experience with physical security technologies and project management, demonstrating how you can drive initiatives forward.
  • To stand out, prepare examples of times when you had to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, showcasing your ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
  • When preparing for interviews, review common security standards and best practices, and be ready to discuss how you would apply them in a real-world setting.
  • If possible, have a portfolio or examples of your work in security operations or project management, even if it's from an academic or volunteer context, to demonstrate your capabilities.
  • During salary negotiations, do research on the market rate for similar positions and be prepared to discuss your expectations based on your experience and qualifications.
