Job Description

About the Role

Ubiminds is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with a strong background in Java to assist in developing a new product suite focused on Public Safety. This remote position is ideal for engineers passionate about creating scalable, maintainable applications while utilizing modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests (frontend + backend)
  • Review existing codebases to enhance test coverage and identify issues
  • Utilize AI tools provided by the company for efficient test creation and refactoring
  • Debug test failures across application, infrastructure, and data layers
  • Minimize test flakiness and noise in CI pipelines

Requirements

  • Proficient in Java, with hands-on experience in Playwright
  • Experience working with large codebases and unfamiliar systems
  • Solid understanding of testing fundamentals, including unit vs. integration tests
  • Practical knowledge of automation frameworks like xUnit, JUnit, Jest, and Karate
  • Strong debugging abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Minor proficiency in English for effective communication

Nice to Have

  • Enthusiasm for utilizing AI-powered tools such as Claude and Copilot in daily tasks
  • Interest in experimenting with AI for test generation and coverage analysis
