Senior Automation Test Engineer with Appium

About the Role

The role entails a mix of technical and collaborative work, as you will be designing and implementing automated test frameworks, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and establishing quality engineering best practices. Your day-to-day activities will include tackling complex testing challenges, optimizing automation frameworks, and supporting cross-team collaboration to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive test automation strategy for the company's mobile platform
• Design and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test frameworks using Appium, Java, Cucumber, and related technologies
• Optimize automation frameworks for speed, reliability, and flexibility across diverse testing scenarios
• Implement and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, product managers, and business analysts, to troubleshoot defects and improve quality practices
• Provide mentorship to mid-level and junior team members, conduct code reviews, and promote automation best practices
• Leverage Allure reporting to analyze test execution results, generate automation metrics, and communicate insights and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
• Address complex testing challenges, such as asynchronous behavior and complex workflows, using Playwright's advanced capabilities
• Continuously review and refine automation frameworks to ensure they remain scalable, maintainable, and high-performing
• Support the development of test design and implementation, ensuring high test coverage and early defect detection

What We Are Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in Automation Test Engineering, with a strong focus on mobile and API testing
• Proven hands-on expertise with Appium for mobile test automation
• Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Maven for project and dependency management
• Solid experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber
• Strong knowledge of Mocha, Chai, and Axios for API and integration testing
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Proficiency in test management tools, such as Jira, Confluence, X-Ray, TestRail, and AQUA
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions
• Highly proactive, self-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, automate repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes
