About the Role
As a Senior Back End Engineer at Kyra, you'll be working on a complex platform that manages the full lifecycle of influencer marketing, from creator discovery to campaign management and analytics. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve building and maintaining domain modules in a DDD-style Node.js/TypeScript monorepo, designing APIs, and managing database schemas and migrations. You'll be working closely with the engineering lead and will be responsible for deploying your own services to the cloud infrastructure. The role requires a strong product mindset, with the ability to take vague product direction and turn it into a real spec, then ship a v1 and iterate.The team at Kyra is composed of experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality solutions. What You Will Do
- Build and maintain domain modules in a DDD-style Node.js/TypeScript monorepo
- Take vague product direction, sharpen it into a real spec, and ship a v1
- Design APIs, write docs, and manage database schemas and migrations
- Build features that span the main transactional backend and a separate analytics backend
- Write services that integrate with TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube APIs
- Work with queue workers for background job processing
- Deploy your own services to the cloud infrastructure and write migrations
- Investigate production issues and trace through the observability stack to find the cause
- Collaborate with the engineering lead and other team members to ensure alignment and best practices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production
- Strong relational database experience, including schema design, query optimization, and safe migrations
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, including containers, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment
- Strong product mindset, with the ability to ship features independently
- Experience with REST API design and documentation
- Familiarity with Git workflow maturity, including branching strategies and code review
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug across boundaries
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical team members
- Experience with DDD or domain-driven design, including explicit module boundaries and event-driven patterns
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI-powered features, including evals, prompts, and regression testing
- Familiarity with columnar/analytics databases for heavy aggregate queries
- Experience with in-memory caching and session stores
- Knowledge of OAuth, OTP, or session-based auth systems in production
- Experience with social media platform APIs, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube
