About the Role
The Senior Back End Software Developer position at Revvity is a unique opportunity to join a global team of talented engineers, designers, and product managers working on cutting-edge healthcare technology. As a key member of the Signals Software team, you will be responsible for the back-end design and development of Revvity's next-generation cloud notebook application, designed specifically for the scientific community. Your expertise in Java, Vert.x, and AWS will be crucial in crafting well-documented, clean, and tested code that meets the highest standards of performance and security.The role entails close collaboration with fellow team members to prioritize tasks, specify requirements, and implement features. You will work in an agile environment, leveraging your experience with reactive programming and AI tools to develop innovative solutions. Your day-to-day activities will include designing and developing secure, performant interfaces and services, building and maintaining high-impact functionality, and working with cloud services and technologies.

What You Will Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software requirements
- Design, develop, and test software applications using Java, Vert.x, and AWS
- Develop secure, performant, and scalable interfaces and services
- Build and maintain new functionality into the Signals Notebook application
- Work with cloud services and technologies to ensure seamless integration
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, well-documented code
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to resolve technical issues and improve overall system performance
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for software development within the team
- Ensure compliance with software development methodologies and standards
What We Are Looking For
- 5-7 years of Java programming experience
- 3-5 years of experience with Reactive Programming (Vert.x)
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with AI tools for development
- 3-5 years of experience building Web Services and Restful APIs
- Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
- Experience with Agile development environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) is a plus
- Knowledge of JDBC in a transactional application is desirable
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with the latest AI tools for development
- Exposure to performance implications of different queries and inserts/updates
- Thorough understanding of structured software development methodologies
- Life science, chemistry, or biology experience is a plus
