About the Role

The Senior Backend Developer role at Bright Vision Technologies is a critical position that entails designing and building internal platform services and shared infrastructure that support the company's mission of transforming business processes through technology. As a key member of the engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible for architecting high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend platforms capable of sustaining very high request volumes with predictable latency. The role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems and strong platform-engineering instincts, as well as the ability to lead multi-quarter platform initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building durable, replayable event-processing pipelines and asynchronous job execution platforms, as well as experience in designing and operating caching, rate-limiting, and request-shaping layers. The role is part of the company's in-house Statement of Work (SOW) engagement, and the successful candidate will be expected to work directly as a full-time W2 employee of Bright Vision Technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build internal platform services and shared infrastructure that support the company's mission
  • Architect high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend platforms capable of sustaining very high request volumes
  • Build durable, replayable event-processing pipelines and asynchronous job execution platforms
  • Design and operate caching, rate-limiting, and request-shaping layers to protect upstream systems
  • Develop platform abstractions, SDKs, and paved-road libraries to codify best practices
  • Establish robust observability, SLOs, and capacity-planning to ensure platform reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform alignment with business objectives
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new features and technologies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting platform performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support platform development

What We Are Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on distributed systems
  • Strong expertise in building high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend platforms
  • Experience in designing and operating caching, rate-limiting, and request-shaping layers
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and patterns
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes
