Senior Backend Developer

About the Role

The role requires a strong technical background, with the ability to build and maintain well-documented and well-tested systems. You will also be involved in implementing monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues, ensuring the smooth operation of the platform. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support junior developers, helping them grow in both technical and domain knowledge.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement scalable, robust, and reliable backend systems to support the live casino platform
• Ensure high performance, security, and availability across all backend services
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and QA Engineers to deliver new features and improvements
• Build and maintain well-documented and well-tested systems
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues
• Mentor and support junior developers, helping them grow in both technical and domain knowledge
• Continuously improve backend architecture by applying modern technologies and best practices
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and delivery
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of coding practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in backend development

What We Are Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in backend development, working with scalable and high-performance systems
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, or Go
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and caching systems like Redis or Memcached
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, algorithms, and data structures
• Experience or exposure to live casino environments, streaming systems, or similar real-time applications
• Fluency in English and comfort working in cross-functional and international teams
• Right to work within the EU

Nice to Have

• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects
• Certification in backend development or related fields
