Job Description

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Pipeline Security team, you will take technical ownership of GitLab's native Secrets Manager. This production system, built on OpenBao, helps secure sensitive credentials across GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the intersection of backend engineering and infrastructure
  • Shape architecture in Ruby on Rails and Go
  • Guide decisions around role-based access control (RBAC), GraphQL APIs, and Kubernetes deployment configuration

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in Ruby on Rails and Go
