About the Role

The Senior Claims Specialist role at Liberty Mutual Insurance is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise in handling financial lines claims. What You Will Do

  • Analyze and evaluate claims to determine coverage and claim disposition
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support claim decisions
  • Establish and maintain adequate reserves for both indemnity and expense
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and communicate claim updates to stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate specific claim trends and account and/or policy issues to management and underwriting
  • Manage the litigation process through the retention of counsel and adherence to litigation guidelines
  • Proactively monitor the case resolution process and participate in mediations and arbitrations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless claim handling
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of claim activity and decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in claims handling or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and laws
  • Experience with financial lines and professional liability claims
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in law or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CPCU or AIC
  • Experience with claims management systems and technology
