Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Client Platform Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping and operating Dropbox's Windows endpoint platform. This involves driving high-impact work across Windows endpoint management, platform reliability, security, and compliance-driven improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for preserving and advancing senior ownership of the Windows endpoint area, while improving the daily experience and security posture of a critical internal platform.

As a key member of the CorpFleet Engineering team, the Senior Client Platform Engineer will collaborate with partner teams, including CorpInfra, IAM, Security, Corp IT, and support teams. This will involve defining right-sized technical solutions, improving operational quality, and clarifying long-term ownership boundaries across endpoint and Corp Infrastructure-adjacent responsibilities.

The role is centered on delivering scalable, reliable, and secure endpoint experiences for Dropboxers. The ideal candidate will be a senior engineer who enjoys ambiguous platform problems, values operational excellence, and wants to influence both technical direction and team effectiveness without moving into people management.

What You Will Do

  • Own and advance CorpFleet’s Windows endpoint platform, including policy, management, reliability, and operational quality.
  • Maintain and improve Windows endpoint management workflows, including Intune-related administration and device lifecycle processes.
  • Drive security and compliance-related platform work, including application controls, privileged-access-related workflows, secrets-handling patterns, and endpoint visibility.
  • Partner with CorpInfra, IAM, Security, Corp IT, and support teams on rollout planning, escalation paths, access dependencies, and ownership boundaries.
  • Improve operational scalability through automation, documentation, runbooks, and better platform management practices.
  • Lead cross-functional, multi-phase platform initiatives and make sound tradeoff decisions across reliability, security, employee experience, and team capacity.
  • Mentor teammates and raise the bar on technical judgment, documentation quality, and operational execution.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to shape the long-term direction of Windows endpoint engineering at Dropbox.
  • Develop and implement best practices for endpoint management, security, and compliance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving security threats.

What We Are Looking For

  • 9+ years of experience in systems, platform, endpoint, or corporate engineering roles.
  • Proven expertise in Windows endpoint management, security, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of CorpFleet’s Windows endpoint platform, including policy, management, reliability, and operational quality.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical judgment, with the ability to make sound tradeoff decisions across reliability, security, employee experience, and team capacity.
  • Experience with automation, documentation, runbooks, and better platform management practices.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance principles, including application controls, privileged-access-related workflows, and endpoint visibility.
  • Experience with Intune-related administration and device lifecycle processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based endpoint management solutions, such as Microsoft Intune.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Ansible or SaltStack.
  • Certification in Windows endpoint management, security, or compliance.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Professional development opportunities, including training, mentorship, and conference attendance.
  • Access to the latest technologies and tools, including Microsoft products and services.
  • Collaborative and dynamic work environment, with a focus on teamwork and innovation.
  • Employee resource groups, including groups for women, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented minorities.

How to Stand Out

  • Ensure your resume and cover letter are tailored to the Senior Client Platform Engineer role, highlighting your experience with Windows endpoint management, security, and compliance.
  • Be prepared to demonstrate your technical expertise, including your understanding of CorpFleet’s Windows endpoint platform and your experience with automation, documentation, and platform management practices.
  • Showcase your collaboration and communication skills, including your ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highlight your experience with security and compliance principles, including application controls, privileged-access-related workflows, and endpoint visibility.
  • Prepare to discuss your experience with Intune-related administration and device lifecycle processes, as well as your understanding of cloud-based endpoint management solutions.
  • Consider creating a personal project or contributing to open-source projects to demonstrate your skills and passion for platform engineering.
