About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at DV Trading, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and operating the firm-wide cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure supports all trading desks and research platforms, making it a critical component of the company's operations. You will be responsible for leading the development of core shared cloud capabilities across the firm and providing specialized infrastructure support to the crypto desk.The role requires deep expertise in cloud networking, distributed systems, and infrastructure placement. You will need to have strong engineering judgment, especially in environments where latency, operational risk, and security posture directly impact PnL. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning the architecture and operation of cloud infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive trading systems across all desks.
DV Trading has grown significantly since its inception, with over 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. The company's affiliates include two broker-dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and an investment adviser. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be part of a team that is shaping the future of financial services.
What You Will Do
- Own the architecture and operation of cloud infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive trading systems across all desks
- Design VPC and network topologies with explicit routing, isolation, and traffic control
- Partner with the network team to build a robust, highly available, and latency-optimized global network
- Define compute placement strategies, including cluster placement groups and locality-aware scheduling
- Build and maintain shared platform capabilities that enable engineering teams across the firm to self-serve reliably and safely
- Own FinOps visibility and cost optimization frameworks across all trading and research workloads
- Serve as the primary escalation point for cloud infrastructure incidents firm-wide, owning issues from detection through resolution
- Define firm-wide observability standards and implement monitoring tools to ensure infrastructure performance and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud infrastructure with other systems
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, preferably in a financial services or trading environment
- Deep expertise in cloud networking, distributed systems, and infrastructure placement
- Strong engineering judgment, particularly in environments where latency, operational risk, and security posture directly impact PnL
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong understanding of network protocols, architectures, and security best practices
- Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
Nice to Have
- Experience with cryptocurrency or blockchain technology
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
- Certification in cloud computing, such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer
