About the Role

The Senior Cloud Software Engineer Assist role at Stack AV is a backend-focused position within the Remote Assist team. This team plays a pivotal role in accelerating the delivery of Stack AV's self-driving system, ensuring on-time arrival of freight shipments, and enhancing the behavior of autonomous trucks on the road. By delivering a tool for human operators to remotely assist the self-driving system in complex situations, the team contributes significantly to the company's success.

The Remote Assistance team is known for its broad full-stack capabilities, covering complex user interfaces, reliable and scalable cloud infrastructure, live video over cellular connections, new autonomy capabilities, and integrations with the autonomy system. This dynamic and pragmatic team has the in-house abilities to change the company's trajectory significantly.

What You Will Do

  • Own the cloud infrastructure for the Remote Assist system, including specification, design, development, testing, performance optimization, and maintenance.
  • Influence the entire end-to-end Remote Assist system, contributing to its growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver on complex user interfaces and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain live video streaming capabilities over cellular connections.
  • Integrate new autonomy capabilities into the existing system.
  • Work on the development of tools for human operators to assist autonomous systems.
  • Participate in the testing and quality assurance of the Remote Assist system.
  • Ensure the scalability and performance of the cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement security measures to protect the system and its data.
