Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Commercial Risk Manager role at GE Vernova is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of commercial risk management, technical expertise, and leadership skills. As a key member of the Software & Control Solutions (SCS) business line, this role will provide strategic commercial leadership to the ITO teams, enabling the growth of controls product lines across the APAC region. The successful candidate will have a strong background in identifying emerging risks, advising senior management, and mitigating business exposure. The role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, legal, and tax, to define and execute the end-to-end deal commercial strategy. The Senior Commercial Risk Manager will also be responsible for conducting technical, execution, and commercial risk assessments, developing risk registers, and proposing mitigation strategies. GE Vernova's SCS business line is at the forefront of digital solutions for the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Industrial segments. What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership in identifying emerging pole/regional risks and advise senior management on regional risk trends and mitigation strategies
  • Work with sales teams to develop competitive proposals and winning strategies
  • Lead the Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) proposal generation for complex deals, ensuring consistency, quality, and rigor across the portfolio
  • Lead cross-functional deal teams, including commercial application engineers, finance, legal, and tax experts
  • Review customer tender terms and conditions, identify deviations, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Represent the business and lead commercial customer meetings and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define scope, cost, risk, and pricing strategy
  • Conduct technical, execution, and commercial risk assessments using innovative evaluation models
  • Develop and maintain a risk register for complex transactions
  • Propose and drive implementation of mitigation strategies for technical, execution, and commercial risks

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial risk management, preferably in the power generation, oil and gas, or industrial segments
  • Strong understanding of commercial risk management principles, including technical, execution, and commercial risks
  • Experience with Salesforce and Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis and risk assessment
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the business and lead commercial customer meetings
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or engineering
  • Experience working in a matrix organization, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
