About the Role

The Senior Commodity Leader position at GE Vernova is a critical role that involves leading the implementation of procurement strategies for fluid commodities. What You Will Do

  • Lead the procurement activities for assigned projects, including implementing supplier and commodity strategies that support cost, quality, delivery, safety, and sustainability objectives.
  • Manage qualified suppliers for specific business and project requirements, ensuring that they meet GE Vernova's and project requirements.
  • Lead negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms, including pricing, delivery, payment, and contract conditions for assigned projects.
  • Partner with sourcing, engineering, operations, quality, and project teams to support award decisions and procurement execution.
  • Monitor project performance and drive corrective actions to address delivery, quality, and cost concerns.
  • Identify, lead, and support process improvement initiatives to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyze data, market trends, supplier performance, and cross-functional inputs to develop recommendations and inform decisions.
  • Communicate and resolve complex issues, build consensus among stakeholders, and influence outcomes through strong partnership and persuasion.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience in procurement and commodity management.
  • Support critical projects, capacity-related initiatives, and other strategic procurement priorities as assigned.
  • Apply sound judgment to solve complex issues and support business-critical decisions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Commodity Management, and Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, and resolve problems effectively.
  • Experience leading programs, projects, and cross-functional initiatives, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute strategic programs, with established project management skills.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university or college, with a strong understanding of business principles and practices.
