About the Role

The Senior Consultant position at West Monroe is a critical component of the Energy & Utilities team, dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and driving decarbonization efforts. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with clients to develop and implement tailored solutions that meet their specific needs. Your expertise in energy modeling, advanced analytics, and project management will be essential in driving the success of these projects.

As a Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, from utilities to government agencies, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that support decarbonization goals.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including technical research and analysis, client engagement, and subcontractor management
  • Conduct building energy modeling to determine energy savings or operating characteristics of buildings, technologies, or competing technologies
  • Plan, scope, and oversee lab and field studies related to technologies or practices
  • Develop and maintain budget forecasts and project schedules across multiple projects
  • Coordinate research with state programs and independent entities
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables, including spreadsheets with supporting calculations, memos, reports, and presentations
  • Contribute to business development and proposal writing
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients
  • Apply AI technologies to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes
  • Manage and analyze large datasets to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field(s) is required; bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience, preferably including consulting and utility energy efficiency program exposure
  • Demonstrated experience with energy modeling and engineering simulations
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, including maintaining consistency and rigor across multi-section documents with multiple contributors
  • Proven project management experience with a successful track record
  • Strong initiative, creativity, and curiosity; ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to adapt technical material for broader audiences
  • Confidence, enthusiasm, humility, and the highest ethical standards

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI tools and technologies, such as generative AI, automation tools, and data models
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs and policies
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and technologies
  • Certification in energy management or a related field
  • Experience working in a remote environment with colleagues throughout the U.S.
