Senior Content Designer

About the Role

As a Senior Content Designer, you will be responsible for crafting the written copy within the Reddit platform, influencing the designs that define the Reddit experience. Your work will involve partnering with various stakeholders across the organization to build experiences that are both functional and enjoyable for users. This role is remote-friendly within the United States, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a dynamic team.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include creating content patterns, guidelines, and tooling that scale Content Design's impact across the organization. You will advocate for design and content that improves the Reddit experience for users and communities, sharing innovative ideas that solve problems and improve processes.

What You Will Do

• Craft clear, concise, and consistent user interface copy that makes it easy and enjoyable for Reddit users to accomplish tasks and reach their goals.
• Work with Reddit’s Design Systems team to create content patterns, guidelines, and tooling that scales Content Design’s impact across the organization.
• Advocate for design and content that “Remembers the human” and improves the Reddit experience for our users and communities.
• Share innovative ideas that will significantly improve user experience; using fresh thinking to solve problems and improve processes.
• Partner with designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, community managers, legal advisors, and others across the organization to build engaging experiences.
• Utilize design-thinking and a clear head for product strategy to help create one-of-a-kind experiences and features across the Reddit ecosystem.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Reddit’s brand voice and tone, ensuring consistency across all user interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize content design projects that align with business goals and user needs.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform content design decisions, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

• An excellent writer with a keen eye for detail, capable of crafting compelling and clear UI copy.
• Experience writing UI copy for product experiences, with the ability to write new copy, edit existing copy, and integrate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to be effective in situations with limited information and build solutions from first principles.
• Excitement about using and creating new tools to improve workflows, output, and scale our work.
• Comfort with rapid iteration, A/B testing, and pivoting based on performance data.
• Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives for executive-level reviews.
• Strong opinions on content strategy, design, and user experience, with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
