Senior Content Strategist

About the Role

As a key member of the marketing team, the Senior Content Strategist will work closely with the sales team to develop compelling narratives that resonate with public sector audiences. This will involve distilling complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language and creating engaging content that drives real results. The role will also involve partnering with R&D and Government Affairs to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in quantum technology and identify opportunities to showcase IonQ's expertise.

The Senior Content Strategist will report to the marketing leadership team and will be responsible for managing multiple production streams simultaneously, from initial request to concept, storyboard, and final distribution. The ideal candidate will be a versatile and creative professional with a passion for storytelling and a proven track record of success in content strategy, creative direction, or a similar role.

What You Will Do

• Develop and manage an editorial calendar that aligns with IonQ's go-to-market milestones, ensuring a consistent brand voice across all channels
• Create written content, including website copy, blog posts, video scripts, and social storytelling, that simplifies complex quantum technology for diverse audiences
• Identify the need and lead the execution of visual asset creation, including storyboarding and managing video production
• Partner with public sector sales team, R&D, and Government Affairs to develop compelling narratives that resonate with public sector audiences
• Establish clear processes for content requests, creation, approval, and distribution, ensuring high standards for accuracy, quality, and brand consistency
• Manage multiple production streams simultaneously, from initial request to concept, storyboard, and final distribution
• Collaborate with internal social and web teams to ensure a consistent brand voice across all channels
• Develop and manage a portfolio of content that showcases IonQ's expertise in quantum technology
• Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in quantum technology and identify opportunities to showcase IonQ's expertise

What We Are Looking For

• 5-7+ years of experience in content strategy, creative direction, or a similar role, preferably within the tech or emerging science sectors
• Demonstrated portfolio showcasing proficiency in storytelling and writing across a variety of channels, including social, podcasts, web copy, and white papers
• Exceptional ability to translate complex, highly technical subject matter into clear, conversational language
• Proven ability to manage multiple production streams simultaneously, from initial request to concept, storyboard, and final distribution
• Familiarity with digital tools and platforms required to produce high-quality content
• Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong understanding of quantum technology and its applications, or a willingness to learn

• Photography and video skills, with the ability to develop visual assets that showcase IonQ's expertise
• Experience working with external resources, including freelancers and agencies, to develop visual assets
• Knowledge of quantum computing and its applications, with a strong understanding of the technical concepts and principles
