As a key member of the AI Product Counsel team, you will provide critical legal guidance to product teams working on cutting-edge AI models and technologies. What You Will Do

  • Provide legal counsel to product teams on the development and deployment of AI models and technologies
  • Identify and address product, regulatory, copyright, commerce, privacy, and other legal risks associated with AI products
  • Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative ways and build processes for scaling flexible solutions that address risk
  • Serve as an expert in AI legal matters and help propose and advance AI legal policy positions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that AI products and technologies are developed and deployed in a legally compliant manner
  • Build cross-functional relationships and communication styles that resonate with teams to balance risk-taking with responsible development
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI law and provide thought leadership on emerging issues
  • Participate in the development of company-wide policies and procedures related to AI products and technologies
  • Provide training and guidance to product teams on legal issues related to AI products and technologies
  • Collaborate with external counsel and other stakeholders to address legal issues related to AI products and technologies

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in tech law, with a mix of in-house or technology-focused law firm roles
  • JD and license or qualification to practice in CA
  • Strong understanding of AI law and its applications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships and communicate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong sense of ownership, inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, and able to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Experience with AI-related legal issues, such as data privacy, IP, and regulatory compliance
