About the Role

The Senior Creative Designer role at Plaid is a unique opportunity to shape the brand's visual identity and drive awareness through multi-channel campaigns. As a key member of the Creative team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to align on creative strategy, timelines, and production plans. Your expertise in concepting and executing high-quality work across various mediums will be essential in bringing the Plaid brand to life.

As a Senior Creative Designer, you will be responsible for owning the art direction and visual concept of omni-channel campaigns across digital, video, and social. You will collaborate with copywriters to iterate and bring ideas to life, and work closely with motion designers and editors to storyboard and design video content. Your ability to provide creative leadership and feedback across the broader design team will be crucial in ensuring visual consistency and alignment to the overall brand.

The Plaid Creative team is a group of brand designers, motion designers, video strategists, and writers who are passionate about bringing the Plaid brand to life across every channel. As a Senior Creative Designer, you will be part of a unified design organization that reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with the broader Marketing team to ensure the brand continues to evolve in alignment with Plaid's goals and values.

What You Will Do

  • Own the art direction and visual concept of omni-channel campaigns across digital, video, and social
  • Collaborate with copywriters to iterate and bring ideas to life
  • Work closely with motion designers and editors to storyboard and design video content
  • Design a suite of marketing collateral, including banner ads, social assets, print, and email
  • Provide creative leadership and feedback across the broader design team
  • Communicate progress clearly and regularly, offering creative rationale with a strong and strategic point of view
  • Mentor other designers on the team
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Plaid brand and its visual identity
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on creative strategy and production plans

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in design/art direction, with a portfolio that showcases 360 brand campaigns spanning video, social, and digital
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced understanding of photography, videography, motion, animation, and illustration
  • Experience working alongside cross-functional teams and an understanding of motion design workflows
  • Comfortable driving projects end-to-end, giving and receiving feedback, and delivering under tight timelines
  • A strong collaborator with impeccable taste, strategic thinking, strong presentation skills, and the ability to work autonomously
  • An evolving love for AI tools and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment

Nice to Have

  • On-set experience in videography or photography
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as VR or AR
  • Knowledge of web development principles and front-end coding languages
  • Experience working with external agencies and vendors
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software
