About the Role
The Senior Data Analyst, FP&A role at Marqeta is a critical addition to the Financial Planning & Analysis team. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with accounting, sales, product, data science, and other departments to drive business decisions and support the company's financial reliability and scalability. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing structured and unstructured financial and business data from various sources, developing data collection and analytical tools, and building and maintaining analytics reporting to provide insights into business performance and key company metrics.The team at Marqeta is focused on cross-functional collaboration, forecast process optimization, and automation. What You Will Do
- Collect and analyze structured and unstructured financial and business data from various sources such as Snowflake, Intacct ERP, SFDC, and other internal systems
- Develop data collection and analytical tools, models, and processes to support business decisions
- Build and maintain analytics reporting to provide insights into business performance and key company metrics
- Assess and support internal customers' needs for analytical support, using analytical skills and strategic thinking to help teams solve challenges
- Translate objectives into project plans with milestones and resource requirements, and manage assigned projects independently
- Own data analysis and modeling work to drive high-quality forecasting and variance analysis for a number of customers
- Establish strong relationships with individual teams and cross-functional business partners
- Help prepare data for materials related to management and investor communications
- Participate in initiatives and discussions related to system integration, data infrastructure and governance, internal control, and process improvement
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience working with SQL and relational data, especially with large-scale data and advanced SQL functions
- Ability to work with nuanced data and ambiguity, with a willingness to self-explore data structures
- Familiarity with Snowflake and advanced functionality such as Snowflake Machine Learning
- Solid grasp of financial and accounting concepts
- Experience working with Excel, ERPs, and financial planning and business intelligence tools
- Exposure to automating processes and data pipeline designs
- Familiarity with modern IT business systems and proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies
- Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and be a strong team player
- Ability to develop communications and key messaging for stakeholders and senior management
- Bachelor's Degree within IT, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Certification in data analysis or a related field
