About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer position at Experian is a critical role that involves designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage. As a key member of the data engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and contributing to the development of data lake solutions. Your expertise in AWS services such as Glue, S3, Aurora, or RDS will be essential in maintaining and improving data workflows.The role is based in Costa Rica, but as a remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere. What You Will Do
- Support cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Work with AWS services to maintain and improve data workflows
- Help with data validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of analytics pipelines
- Contribute to data lake solutions used for reporting and analytics
- Support reporting and visualization tools used by business partners
- Follow best practices for source control, documentation, and team collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and workflows
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience working with modern data lake formats like Parquet or Apache Iceberg
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services such as Glue, S3, Aurora, or RDS
- Familiarity with ETL concepts and data warehousing fundamentals
- Experience using source control tools such as Bitbucket
- Exposure to reporting or analytics tools such as SSRS or Tableau
- Comfort working in Agile or DevOps-style team environments
- Strong understanding of data pipeline architecture and data governance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud-based data integration platforms
- Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
- Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts
- Experience with containerization using Docker
- Certification in AWS or other cloud platforms
