About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer position at Experian is a critical role that involves designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage. As a key member of the data engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and contributing to the development of data lake solutions. What You Will Do

  • Support cloud-based data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
  • Work with AWS services to maintain and improve data workflows
  • Help with data validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of analytics pipelines
  • Contribute to data lake solutions used for reporting and analytics
  • Support reporting and visualization tools used by business partners
  • Follow best practices for source control, documentation, and team collaboration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and workflows
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience working with modern data lake formats like Parquet or Apache Iceberg
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services such as Glue, S3, Aurora, or RDS
  • Familiarity with ETL concepts and data warehousing fundamentals
  • Experience using source control tools such as Bitbucket
  • Exposure to reporting or analytics tools such as SSRS or Tableau
  • Comfort working in Agile or DevOps-style team environments
  • Strong understanding of data pipeline architecture and data governance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based data integration platforms
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
  • Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts
  • Experience with containerization using Docker
  • Certification in AWS or other cloud platforms
