Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer role at Globaldev Group is a key position in the company's innovative project for a prominent European renewable energy company. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and scaling a cross-business anomaly detection solution for complex industrial data. This role requires a strong engineering mindset, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of setting up production-ready engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and version control (Git). You will be working closely with the business and operations teams to align on requirements and request and standardize waveform/sensor data.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement streaming and batch data pipelines for data integration, ingestion, data quality management, transformations, and auditing
  • Perform feature engineering and data exploration to develop and improve anomaly detection models
  • Collaborate with business and operations teams to align on requirements and request and standardize waveform/sensor data
  • Build and maintain the Gold data layer, key KPIs, and PoC evaluation frameworks
  • Set up and maintain solid engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), version control (Git), unit and integration testing, and proper documentation
  • Work with the team to design and implement data storage solutions, including data warehousing and data lakes
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and machine learning
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
  • Collaborate with the data science team to develop and deploy machine learning models

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Azure and the Databricks platform
  • Solid experience with MLflow for lifecycle management
  • Proven track record in setting up production-ready engineering practices (CI/CD, IaC, Git, unit/integration testing)
  • Senior-level engineering mindset with the ability to work independently in a complex data environment
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English
  • Experience with data engineering, data architecture, and data warehousing
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with data visualization tools and technologies

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Additional Data Science / ML capabilities, especially with anomaly detection (real-time or streaming scenarios)
  • Experience with Databricks-based ML workflows, model serving endpoints, model versioning, testing, and tuning
  • Knowledge of statistical normalization techniques (e.g., z-score) and signal processing (e.g., FFT transformation)
