About the Role
The Senior Data Engineer position at Recharge is a critical component of the company's centralized Data and Analytics team. As a key player in delivering critical analytic capabilities and insights, this role will focus on building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that empower both internal business analytics and customer-facing data products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data engineering principles and a proven track record of driving data quality and strategic insights.Recharge is a leader in the subscription platform space, serving over 20,000 brands globally. By joining the Data and Analytics team, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that drive business growth.
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing existing ETL processes, ensuring data quality and consistency, and influencing stakeholders across the organization. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills, making it an exciting opportunity for a seasoned data engineer looking to make a significant impact.
What You Will Do
- Build data pipelines, ELT, and infrastructure solutions to power internal data analytics and customer-facing data products
- Create automated monitoring, auditing, and alerting processes to ensure data quality and consistency
- Collaborate with business and application teams to implement data strategies and build data flows
- Design, develop, and optimize existing ETL processes that merge data from disparate sources
- Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize data projects that drive business value
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business analytics
- Influence and communicate with all levels of stakeholders, including analysts, developers, business users, and executives
- Seek ways to continually improve the operations, monitoring, and performance of the data warehouse
- Redesign and optimize existing data processes using AI and machine learning techniques to improve team productivity and enhance data quality
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in a data engineering related role with a track record of building scalable data pipeline and platform solutions
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and building data pipelines and models to ingest, transform, and deliver large amounts of data
- Experience with a variety of data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise data management platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, RDS, AWS, GCP)
- Solid grasp of data warehousing methodologies like Kimball and Inmon
- Experience working with ETL tools (FiveTran, dbt, Python) and workflow orchestration management engines (Airflow, Cloud Composer)
- Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and data security principles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLM-assisted development, automated documentation, and issue resolution
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and migration strategies
- Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts, including model deployment and integration
- Certification in data engineering or a related field (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer)
