About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer at Zero Hash, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data. You'll work closely with product teams and business stakeholders to understand the meaning of the data you're building for and ensure that it meets their needs. As a Senior Data Engineer at Zero Hash, you'll play a critical role in helping the company achieve its mission of abstracting away technical, regulatory, and operational complexity and enabling partners to treat digital assets as just another financial primitive.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Build and optimize data solutions using Databricks, Apache Spark, and AWS
- Develop high-quality, maintainable code using Python and data engineering best practices
- Collaborate with product teams and business stakeholders to understand the meaning of the data you're building for
- Create and maintain data models, data quality, and monitoring processes
- Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of existing data infrastructure
- Troubleshoot data issues and implement solutions to ensure data accuracy and availability
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights to stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in the fintech space
- Deep proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets
- Hands-on experience with efficient use of AI coding platforms to elevate productivity
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-performance modern lakehouse architectures
- A humble and scrappy get-it-done mindset
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to independently lay out and test clear hypotheses and solve problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field

- Experience with digital assets and blockchain
- Experience at a banking-as-a-service, brokerage-as-a-service, or payment-as-a-service business
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
