What You Will Do

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of large-scale data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science, product, and sales, to drive business growth and outcomes
  • Develop and maintain data engineering best practices and standards, ensuring that the team is following industry-leading approaches
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and develop data-driven solutions to meet those needs
  • Design and implement data quality and testing frameworks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data systems
  • Develop and manage data engineering budgets, ensuring that the team is operating within budget and meeting business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying that knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in data engineering practices
  • Lead the development of technical roadmaps and strategic plans for the data engineering team
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement company-wide data strategies and initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on leading teams and managing large-scale data systems
  • Strong technical skills in data engineering, including experience with data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience guiding and developing junior team members
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
  • Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Beam, Apache Spark, and Apache Kafka
  • Strong understanding of data quality and testing principles, with experience developing and implementing data quality frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
