About the Role

As a Senior Data QA Developer at Nesto Cloud, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of the company's data pipelines. This involves collaborating closely with the Data Development team to design and implement robust testing frameworks, leveraging technologies like Python, SQL, and Airflow. Your work will have a direct impact on the mortgage ecosystem, enabling Nesto Cloud to provide accurate and timely insights to its clients.

As a Senior Data QA Developer, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Developers, Product Managers, and Engineers, to ensure seamless data flow and high-quality insights.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build automated testing suites for data pipelines using Python and SQL to validate data integrity and schema consistency
  • Collaborate with Data Developers to define data contracts, quality gates, and acceptance criteria during the design phase
  • Develop and implement data quality frameworks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data pipelines
  • Partner with Product Managers to design and implement data validation and testing processes
  • Develop automated 'Data-SLA' monitors and observability signals to catch anomalies in BigQuery and Airflow
  • Perform deep-dive validation on complex ELT/ETL processes to ensure high-performance datasets optimized for Power BI and internal analytics
  • Implement and maintain data-specific testing within Git-based CI/CD workflows using Pulumi/Terraform
  • Take ownership of broader data quality outcomes, improving documentation, data governance, and team workflows
  • Collaborate with the Data Development team to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and testing frameworks

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Data QA, with a focus on testing complex SaaS/cloud data environments
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to write clean, maintainable automation code
  • Hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery) and orchestration tools like Airflow
  • Familiarity with Infra-as-Code tools like Pulumi or Terraform
  • Analytical rigor, with a deep understanding of data modeling, dimensional design, and the ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks in SQL execution plans
  • Experience working in a hypergrowth startup environment, with a self-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in fast-paced settings
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and tools
