About the Role

The Senior Data Science Manager, Marketing at Reddit is a critical leadership position that will oversee a team of talented data scientists focused on the Marketing and Business Development domain. This team's core mission is to evolve Marketing and Business Development Data Science from ad-hoc reporting to a strategic data science partnership that scales Reddit's marketing efforts. The successful candidate will serve as a thought-partner to cross-functional leaders, communicating and shaping the roadmap and strategy for Reddit by identifying actionable and impactful insights.

As part of the Data Science Team, the Senior Data Science Manager will lead the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to drive marketing performance and attribution. This will involve building and maintaining a canonical single source of truth for marketing performance, leveraging robust data foundations to power reliable campaign analyses, experimentation, and accurate Lifetime Value modeling.

The Senior Data Science Manager will report to a senior leader within the Data Science organization and will be responsible for managing a team of data scientists. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading high-performing teams, driving strategy, and delivering causal insights to inform marketing decisions.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of data scientists focused on the Marketing and Business Development domain
  • Serve as a thought-partner to cross-functional leaders, including Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing
  • Drive strategy and shape the roadmap for Reddit by identifying actionable and impactful insights
  • Deliver causal insights to inform marketing decisions, including developing and deploying Incremental/Predictive LTV models
  • Oversee the establishment of measurement frameworks to evaluate Brand Initiatives and ensure consistent metrics are aligned across the organization
  • Drive the adoption of strategic and tactical recommendations based on deep product experience and data understanding
  • Ensure data quality by overseeing work on ETLs, reporting dashboards, and data aggregations needed for business tracking and/or ML model development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and drive projects forward
  • Communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on marketing and business development
  • 2+ years of experience leading high-performing teams of data scientists
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Experience with causal measurement and metrics, including defining and deploying advanced causal decision frameworks and models
  • Strong understanding of data foundations, including building and maintaining canonical single sources of truth for marketing performance and attribution
  • Experience with decision-making insights, including translating data into clear, actionable recommendations to guide budget allocation and identify high-value growth segments
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive strategy and shape the roadmap for Reddit
  • Experience with remote collaboration tools and managing distributed teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling
  • Familiarity with Python and/or R programming languages
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, including AWS or GCP
  • Knowledge of marketing attribution and campaign analysis
  • Experience with data visualization tools, including Tableau or Power BI
