About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist at Emma, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge data models to enhance marketing decision-making processes. Your expertise in machine learning and data analysis will be crucial in driving the company's marketing efforts forward. The Senior Data Scientist role is a fixed-term position based in Germany or Portugal, offering a unique opportunity to work with a global team and contribute to the company's mission to empower customers to awaken their best every day.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement cutting-edge data models to enhance marketing decision-making processes
- Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives using advanced techniques such as attribution analysis, incrementality tests, and media mix modeling
- Translate data insights into actionable strategies to guide marketing budget allocation
- Leverage expertise in handling extensive data sets to conduct comprehensive analyses from start to finish
- Own, improve, and promote best practices and scientific models for machine learning, advanced statistics, and predictive modeling within the team
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, analytics engineers, and data analysts to integrate data insights into Emma's technology platform
- Drive success across Emma's marketing efforts through data-driven insights
- Develop and maintain documentation of data models, methodologies, and results
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership and marketing teams
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and machine learning
What We Are Looking For
- Academic degree (Masters or PhD) in computer science, applied mathematics, data science, statistics, or other related fields
- At least 3 years of experience working as a data scientist in an industry setting
- Solid and demonstrable knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms
- Hands-on experience with marketing measurement methodologies, particularly Media Mix Modeling (MMM) and multi-touch attribution (MTA)
- Strong experience with Python and its common machine learning libraries (e.g., sklearn, Tensorflow/PyTorch)
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS), MLOps, and version control
- Experience working with business stakeholders, including gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
- Knowledge of database management systems and data warehousing

- Experience with deploying, maintaining, and updating models in production
- First-hand experience with model design, calibration, and translating outputs into actionable investment recommendations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and version control systems
