About the Role
Mozilla Corporation, the non-profit-backed technology company behind pioneering brands like Firefox, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its Revenue Data Science team. This team partners with Business Development and Finance to evaluate revenue growth opportunities and translate usage data into business-relevant insights. As a senior data scientist, you will play a critical role in shaping ambiguous questions, guiding data-driven decisions, and ensuring analytical outputs are accurate and actionable.The Revenue Data Science team's work informs prioritization, investment decisions, and long-term growth strategy across Firefox. This role emphasizes judgment, communication, and influence, supported by strong technical execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, Finance, and Product, to drive business outcomes and revenue growth.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate and compare multiple revenue growth opportunities to inform Business Development prioritization, investment decisions, and negotiation strategy
- Develop clear analytical frameworks to assess trade-offs, risks, and expected impact across competing options
- Produce executive-ready reporting and dashboards that translate complex analyses into concise, decision-oriented narratives
- Design measurement plans to evaluate new growth initiatives and validate assumptions over time
- Ensure high standards of data validation and accuracy for analyses surfaced to senior leadership
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business problems and develop data-driven solutions
- Communicate insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and business partners
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new tools and methodologies in data science and analytics
What We Are Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied quantitative roles, with a track record of influencing business decisions through data
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for analysis, modeling, and validation
- Strong business judgment and stakeholder management skills, including comfort assessing trade-offs and pushing back on assumptions when needed
- Practical experience with statistical analysis and experiment design, applied to real-world business problems
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with multiple viable options, delivering directional insights with clear rationale
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations
Nice to Have
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and modeling techniques
