About the Role
The Senior Data Solutions Analyst role is a key position within Liberty Mutual Insurance's Operational Data & Reporting team. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Your expertise in coding languages, business intelligence tools, and data manipulation will be essential in delivering high-quality data solutions.The Operational Data & Reporting team is a critical component of Liberty Mutual Insurance's data office, responsible for ensuring that data is a competitive differentiator for the enterprise. The team includes data analysts, data stewards, data strategists, and data product owners, all working together to leverage data to drive business decisions.
As a Senior Data Solutions Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data solutions that meet their needs. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders will be essential in this role.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop scalable data solutions with a focus on reusability and self-service data consumption
- Work independently on complex assignments, prototyping and developing data solutions that meet business requirements
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in data engineering, business intelligence, and evaluate new tools for adoption
- Identify opportunities to apply Gen AI for data discovery, lineage summarization, automated documentation, query generation, and developer productivity
- Develop proof-of-concept solutions utilizing multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements
- Perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
- Design and develop data solutions that enable effective self-service data consumption and describe their value to customers
- Identify and utilize best practices and iterative testing to ensure requirements are met
- Prioritize efforts based on customer value and set expectations for deliverables of high complexity
- Lead projects and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective project execution
- Optimize and tune processes for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency
What We Are Looking For
- Strong technical aptitude with data manipulation, data wrangling, and reporting tools (SQL, Power BI, SAS, Python, cloud computing, and Snowflake)
- 3+ years of experience building production data pipelines, data solutions, and Power BI Dashboards
- Hands-on experience with data quality testing frameworks and practices
- Experience implementing automated data tests and validation
- 3-5 years of experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments (ETL & scripting languages, Python, PowerShell)
- 3-5 years of experience with top-quadrant Business Intelligence tools
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills in coding languages and business intelligence tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake)
- Strong analytical, strategic, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
- Certification in data management or business intelligence (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, Certified Business Intelligence Analyst)
