- Work directly with brand designers and marketing teams as a peer, contributing to concepting and ensuring that design standards are met.
- Set the quality bar for Mercury’s front door, advocating for exceptional design and user experience standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that design solutions meet business objectives and user needs.
- Stay updated on the latest web technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the design and functionality of the website.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure that all work meets the team’s quality and design standards.
- Participate in design planning and strategy sessions, contributing your expertise and insights to help shape the company’s design direction.
- Develop and maintain documentation of design decisions, design systems, and best practices.
- Experience as a technical lead on complex projects with multiple stakeholders, with a track record of delivering high-quality results on time.
- Deep command of HTML and CSS, not just as layout tools but as creative mediums, with the ability to stay current on new developments.
- Fluency in the web animation stack, including CSS transitions, GSAP, and the Web Animations API, with the ability to choose the right tool for each problem.
- Proficiency in React and Next.js, particularly in content-heavy, pre-rendered marketing contexts.
- Experience working within and extending design systems, with pragmatic opinions on when to use existing components and when to build new ones.
