About the Role
The Senior Developer Relations Engineer position at Plaid is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between technology and finance, focusing on customer growth and experience. As a member of the Developer Relations team, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining exceptional developer experiences, ensuring that Plaid's APIs are not only easy to integrate but also provide a seamless experience for thousands of developers who rely on them. What You Will Do
- Create and evolve developer documentation for Plaid's APIs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and usability for a broad developer audience.
- Design and build sample applications, demos, and tutorial videos to demonstrate the benefits and best practices of integrating with Plaid's APIs.
- Improve and maintain developer-facing resources, including the Postman collection, documentation website, and other assets.
- Serve as the advocate for the developer community, translating external developer needs into actionable insights for internal teams.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to deliver a best-in-class developer experience.
- Develop and maintain scalable, broad-reaching methods to support developers in using Plaid's products effectively.
- Participate in the planning and execution of community events, meetups, and conferences to promote Plaid's developer platform.
- Conduct technical research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the fintech and developer relations space.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or similar roles, or a combination of 2+ years in Developer Relations and 3+ years in related technical roles.
- Ability to write clear, idiomatic code in at least one widely used backend language and one frontend language.
- Experience in building sample applications and technical demos.
- Proven track record of writing high-quality developer documentation from scratch and identifying gaps or opportunities in existing documentation.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of fintech and banking technologies, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts simply.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Background in financial services or a related field, providing a deep understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities.
