Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer (f/m/x)

About the Role

As a key member of the MAIA team, the Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer will be responsible for making the company's platform reliable, secure, auditable, and developer-friendly. This will involve collaborating closely with the product engineering team to ensure seamless integration and efficient rollout of new features.

MAIA's platform is built on a foundation of proven tools, including Docker Compose on Hetzner, PostgreSQL, and a simple yet robust security framework. The company is committed to maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

What You Will Do

• Take full ownership of MAIA's infrastructure, including Hetzner, AWS, GCP, and Azure for selected services
• Design, implement, and maintain the company's CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Develop and improve deployment workflows, rollout strategies, versioning, and rollback procedures
• Build, improve, and maintain MAIA's observability stack, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting
• Operate and improve the company's self-hosted Postgres setup, including backup and restore, performance, and availability
• Implement and maintain security fundamentals, including IAM, secrets management, TLS, vulnerability scanning, and patch management
• Ensure the company's technical controls meet the requirements for ISO 27001 certification
• Collaborate with the product engineering team to ensure seamless integration and efficient rollout of new features
• Continuously monitor and improve the platform's reliability, security, and performance

What We Are Looking For

• Solid experience running production systems on Linux servers
• Strong working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose in production
• Experience with reverse proxies and API gateways such as Traefik or Kong
• Hands-on PostgreSQL operations experience, including backup and restore, performance awareness, and connection pooling
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Working experience with an observability stack, including Grafana and Loki, Prometheus, or comparable tooling
• Strong security fundamentals, including IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and patching
• Fluent English language skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
• Experience with security compliance and auditing, including ISO 27001 certification
