About the Role
The Senior Director, Business Development & Talent Marketing, will play a pivotal role in driving Wasserman's growth in the German-speaking DACH region. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading business development efforts, fostering commercial partnerships, and identifying new revenue streams. Your expertise in sales, marketing, and partnership management will be crucial in navigating the complex landscape of sports, music, and entertainment.Wasserman operates at the epicenter of these industries, serving talent, brands, and properties on a global scale. With a presence in 28 countries and over 70 cities, the company has established itself as a trusted partner for major leagues, teams, and venues. As the Senior Director, you will be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of the sports and entertainment industry.
The role will be split into three primary responsibilities: leading business development for Wasserman Live, driving growth for Wasserman Brands & Properties, and overseeing athlete marketing and commercial partnerships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including talent agents, business unit leads, and sales professionals, to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue and expand Wasserman's presence in the DACH region.
What You Will Do
- Develop leads, secure meetings, and build relationships with prospective partners at senior levels
- Conduct desk-based research to identify potential partnership categories and revenue-generating business models
- Manage and evolve the CRM system to maintain accurate records of sales and business development contacts and activities
- Foster cross-business unit integration of services and competencies across client, prospect, and lead categories
- Develop the business development strategy for Wasserman Live to grow their portfolio of large-scale strategic clients
- Ensure Wasserman is included in major RFPs by strategic client portfolio lists
- Work with business development teams in the UK and US to ensure major global clients are including Wasserman in their DACH project portfolio
- Utilize the central contact CRM database to avoid overselling contacts when approaching opportunities
- Compile a monthly business development report for the DACH region
- Develop leads and opportunities up to and including the presentation stage
- Coordinate pitch documents and processes, pitch presentation creation, and writing
What We Are Looking For
- Fluency in German and English at a business competency and negotiation level
- Multi-year experience in the sports, music, and entertainment industry with a proven track record of building valuable commercial relationships
- Significant experience in partnership management and sales, with a strong network among brands and rightsholders
- Strong sales skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and strategic thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience with CRM systems and sales management tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
