About the Role
The Senior Director, Due Diligence and Onboarding, is a critical leadership position at MVB Financial Corp., responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the onboarding and due diligence function. This role ensures efficient, compliant, and scalable execution across Know Your Customer (KYC), Due Diligence (DD), and Customer Identification Program (CIP) workflows. As a senior operational leader, the successful candidate will manage a multi-functional team, drive continuous improvement, and serve as a subject matter expert on KYC/DD matters.The role operates at the intersection of compliance rigor and operational efficiency, with direct accountability for staffing, workflow design, technology utilization, and exam readiness. The Senior Director will partner with Enterprise Compliance Advisory to execute compliance frameworks, including customer risk rating methodology, Due Diligence criteria, and ongoing monitoring requirements.
What You Will Do
- Own and drive the day-to-day operations of the Onboarding & Due Diligence function
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of due diligence analysts, reviewers, and managers
- Establish clear performance expectations, coaching frameworks, and career development pathways
- Define and enforce staffing models, workload distribution, and capacity planning
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve service level agreements (SLAs), quality metrics, and operational KPIs
- Partner with the Quality Control function to design and maintain robust QC sampling methodologies
- Drive a culture of operational excellence, identifying and remediating workflow bottlenecks
- Receive and execute compliance frameworks designed by Enterprise Compliance Advisory
- Coordinate daily with Advisory on complex customer cases
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in due diligence, onboarding, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks and risk criteria
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of driving team performance and development
- Expertise in Excel and other relevant tools and technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with fintech, payment, or gaming clients is a plus
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with workflow design and technology utilization
- Knowledge of customer risk rating methodology and Due Diligence criteria
- Familiarity with Quality Control functions and QC sampling methodologies
- Experience with cross-functional governance forums and regulatory examinations
