About the Role

What You Will Do

• Own the end-to-end technical engagement lifecycle for strategic accounts, from pre-sales architecture and technical discovery through integration delivery, deployment, and handoff to customer success.
• Develop and execute technical roadmaps that align with customer strategic objectives, ensuring Smartsheet's solutions meet their evolving needs.
• Lead and manage a team of field engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities to ensure the team's success and growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer success, and product development, to ensure seamless alignment and effective communication.
• Design, build, and deploy complex technical integrations that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.
• Present technical visions and roadmaps to C-level executives and other key stakeholders, communicating the value and impact of Smartsheet's solutions.
• Develop and maintain playbooks, best practices, and knowledge bases that capture the team's expertise and facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and emerging standards, applying this knowledge to continuously improve the team's capabilities and the company's competitive edge.
• Embed with customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements, using this insight to inform the development of Smartsheet's platform and solutions.

What We Are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in field engineering, technical sales, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in driving customer engagement and technical outcomes.
• Deep expertise in software development, integration architectures, and technical solution design, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams and developing the careers of team members.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative, effective solutions.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet's platform and solutions, or similar software and technologies, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience working in an agile environment, with a strong understanding of DevOps practices and principles.
• Certification in relevant technologies or methodologies, such as ITIL, TOGAF, or SAFe, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual setting.
