About the Role

The Senior Editor & Mortgage Content Lead role at Ratehub.ca is a unique opportunity to join a leading Canadian fintech company and shape its editorial voice in the mortgage and real estate space. As a key member of the Mortgages Business Unit team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing an editorial strategy that strengthens the company's position in the market. You'll serve as the primary subject matter expert for mortgages and real estate, representing the brand in media opportunities and providing expert commentary to the Communications team.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Canadian mortgage market, as well as expertise in SEO and content creation. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of producing high-quality, engaging content. You'll also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as Ratehub's primary subject matter expert for mortgages and real estate, representing the brand in media opportunities
  • Develop and execute an editorial strategy that strengthens the company's position in the mortgage space
  • Create exceptional, accurate, and timely original content across formats, including media contributions, landing pages, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and social media
  • Provide on-camera and on-mic presence for video content and media interviews
  • Liaise regularly with Ratehub's mortgage brokerage team to stay current on rate trends, lender strategy, and market shifts
  • Translate insights into timely content updates and maintain and refresh existing content on an ongoing basis
  • Incorporate SEO and GEO best practices into all content, with particular rigour on landing pages and high-traffic pages
  • Set, document, and uphold Ratehub's editorial voice and style standards across all formats, channels, and contributors
  • Establish and maintain editorial policies, workflows, and governance frameworks that scale across staff writers, freelancers, and cross-functional contributors
  • Own and manage the editorial and social media calendar, balancing timely rate and market coverage with long-term content strategy
  • Review, edit, and approve work from writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts to maintain a consistently high editorial bar

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in content creation, editing, or a related field, with a focus on mortgages and real estate
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality, engaging content that drives results
  • Expertise in SEO and content creation, with a deep understanding of the Canadian mortgage market
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable content
  • Experience with Google Analytics and SEMrush, with the ability to incorporate data-driven insights into content creation
  • Strong understanding of Canadian financial products and regulations

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a fintech or related industry, with a deep understanding of the Canadian mortgage market
  • Certification in editing, content creation, or a related field
  • Experience with video production and on-camera presence
