About the Role
The Senior Engineer - Growth Marketing position at Buffer is a unique opportunity to combine technical skills with marketing expertise to drive business growth. As a member of the Growth Marketing team, you will be responsible for building web experiences and systems that help Buffer expand its reach and convert users. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across the full frontend scope, from React and modern web development to backend logic and third-party API integrations.The Growth Marketing team values pace and iteration, shipping quickly, learning from real usage, and improving as they go. However, they also care deeply about craft, noticing UX details and maintaining high standards while keeping momentum. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with the Director of Marketing, Senior Design Engineer, and Senior Designer to achieve team goals.

What You Will Do
- Lead growth engineering projects from concept to launch, working closely with marketing, design, and other engineers.
- Build features on Buffer's marketing site, including landing pages, interactive tools, and conversion flows that help people discover and try Buffer.
- Create benchmarks, calculators, and utility content that educate users and drive engagement.
- Implement A/B testing infrastructure and develop programmatic page generation for SEO/AEO.
- Build reusable components that make future projects easier to ship.
- Drive experimentation and optimization by implementing A/B tests, optimizing conversion funnels, and helping the team learn faster through code.
- Set up experiments, validate results, and iterate based on what is learned.
- Maintain integrations with Buffer's marketing technology stack, including Segment, GTM, and other tools.
- Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the team's codebase.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development, with a strong background in React and modern web development.
- Experience with marketing technology, including GTM, programmatic advertising, and analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of UX principles and the ability to create user-friendly interfaces.
- Experience with backend logic, including integrating with third-party APIs and debugging tracking pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team.
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation, including setting up experiments and validating results.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on craft, with the ability to maintain high standards while keeping momentum.
