What You Will Do

• Lead and support engineers in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment, fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
• Contribute hands-on to stay close to technology, ensuring that technical decisions are informed by both business needs and engineering realities.
• Help engineers grow personally and professionally by advancing their skills and inspiring them with purpose.
• Ensure the leveraging of new and existing technologies to build products that customers love and that deliver business value.
• Take responsibility for product delivery, balancing time, budget, and quality to meet business objectives.
• Contribute to cross-team strategic initiatives, such as raising the engineering bar, improving guidelines, and defining how the organization works.
• Mentor other engineers and help them grow and succeed, becoming a natural go-to-person within the organization.
• Discuss, commit, and execute plans, providing honest feedback and being willing to go the extra mile to make your team successful.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and remove roadblocks, creating an environment conducive to innovation and productivity.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working in cross-functional product teams and a vast experience in engineering scalable web applications.
• Proven experience as a Senior Engineering Manager, with a track record of solving engineering problems using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with PHP and JavaScript, as these are central to the team’s tech stack.
• An outstanding sense of ownership, passion, and drive, with the ability to bring energy to the room and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in a remote setup, with the ability to articulate complex ideas simply.
• Extensive experience in a management role, with a motivation to grow further into this role.
• Fluency in English (C1 level), with an enjoyment of working in an international environment.
• Experience in mentoring other engineers, helping them grow and succeed.
• Ability to give honest feedback and to discuss, commit, and execute plans effectively.

Nice to Have

• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, aiming to improve the efficiency and reliability of operations.
