What You Will Do
- Lead a team of 4 to 8 senior engineers to deliver high-availability banking services
- Ensure your team can predictably deliver results against company objectives
- Create a fulfilling work environment for your team
- Coach the team to a high level of technical excellence and stability
- Give feedback to engineers of all skill levels
- Onboard new engineering hires
- Align engineering work with Mercury values
- Work alongside other product experts to pick the highest-impact projects
- Collaborate with other teams when work overlaps
- Balance building new things with maintaining existing systems

What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team
- Experience integrating with bank core and lending systems
- Strong individual engineering skill set
- Familiarity with Mercury's tech stack (Haskell, TypeScript) or an interest in learning it
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies
