About the Role
The Senior Engineering Manager, Coding Agent Sandboxes, will lead a team of engineers responsible for building and scaling Docker's sbx product. This is a critical role that requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the product roadmap, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering high-quality results.As a member of the sbx team, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and sales. Your primary focus will be on leading the team to develop and improve the sbx product, ensuring it meets the needs of Docker's customers. With a strong focus on security, governance, and compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring the product meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
What You Will Do
- Lead a team of engineers building and scaling the sbx product
- Own the customer experience, from first run to enterprise deployment
- Align the team with business and product goals by working closely with product management
- Drive the product roadmap and ensure it reflects what customers actually need
- Ensure predictable delivery and operational excellence of the components the team ships
- Facilitate communication across teams and status reporting for critical projects
- Hire and retain talent to grow the team
- Hold a high bar for engineering excellence
- Participate in status reporting and career discussions with reports
- Attend customer calls and develop a point of view on what the product needs to win
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years experience managing a high-performing team
- 5+ years experience as a software developer
- Track record of shipping products that succeeded in market
- Strong instinct for UX and a history of advocating for the customer in technical decisions
- Experience working with enterprise customers or building products with enterprise requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and the ability to work remotely across time zones
- Experience with containerization and sandboxing technologies
- Strong understanding of security, governance, and compliance principles

- Experience with Docker products and technologies
- Knowledge of AI agents and their applications in software development
