About the Role

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Reddit, you will lead teams building AI-assisted engineering workflows, partnering with engineering leaders in infrastructure, security, and product engineering to make AI-native development safe, measurable, and effective across the company. The Developer Productivity organization is at the forefront of this effort, creating the foundations for AI-native engineering and defining how Reddit builds software in the future. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of technical excellence and trust in new workflows, helping teams evolve how they build software together.

The role entails leading high-performing engineering teams, balancing execution, organizational alignment, technical quality, and long-term platform strategy. You will work closely with engineering teams as a technical leader, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the successful development and deployment of AI-assisted workflows.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams focused on AI-native developer productivity
  • Partner deeply with engineering teams as a technical leader, balancing execution, organizational alignment, technical quality, and long-term platform strategy
  • Develop and implement scalable platforms for LLM access and evaluation, safe agent workflows, intelligent development environments, and measurement systems
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders in infrastructure, security, product engineering, ads, machine learning, and senior technical leadership
  • Help define how Reddit builds software in the future, creating the foundations for AI-native engineering
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and trust in new workflows, helping teams evolve how they build software together
  • Provide guidance and expertise to ensure the successful development and deployment of AI-assisted workflows
  • Work closely with engineering teams to build paved paths that support experimentation while maintaining quality, reliability, security, and operational standards
  • Develop and implement strategies for measuring the effectiveness of AI-assisted workflows and ensuring they are increasing delivered value rather than just activity

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on AI-assisted engineering workflows
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in a similar domain
  • Strong technical expertise in areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, and software development
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster a culture of technical excellence and trust
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with developer productivity tools and workflows, such as CI/CD pipelines and code review systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
