About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst position at SmithRx represents a critical component of the company's financial operations, focusing on managing expenses, providing financial insights to drive business decisions, and ensuring accurate planning and forecasting. This role is integral to the Finance team, reporting to the Senior Manager, FP&A, and working closely with various department leaders to develop and implement financial strategies.

As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for leading the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of various financial functions, including budgeting and forecasting. The ability to maintain rolling forecasts, incorporate actual results, trend analysis, and business updates, and provide variance analysis with actionable insights is crucial. This role also involves serving as the system owner for the company's planning and forecasting tool, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and continuous process improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of various financial functions
  • Develop and present monthly/quarterly financial reports to department leaders and senior management
  • Identify cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and risks across supported functions
  • Track headcount, vendor spend, and key cost categories to improve visibility and accountability
  • Support ad-hoc financial modeling, scenario planning, and decision support for strategic initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with leaders in various teams to align financial goals with business strategies
  • Provide financial guidance to non-finance stakeholders to improve budget ownership and decision-making
  • Act as a trusted advisor by translating financial data into clear business implications
  • Maintain and update financial models, hierarchies, and reporting structures within the planning and forecasting tool
  • Partner with FP&A and IT teams to drive system enhancements, automation, and process improvements

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Proficiency with financial systems and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with a planning tool (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive, Oracle PBCS) required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of healthcare or pharmacy benefit management industry
