About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance role at Cohere is a high-impact position that requires a unique blend of financial acumen, business savvy, and collaborative spirit. As a key partner to the GTM organization, you will own the core revenue model, evaluate the ROI of major marketing and sales initiatives, and build the financial frameworks that guide large-scale commercial deals. You will be part of a global team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.

The role entails working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless alignment between sales and marketing targets, operational capacity, and company-wide financial goals. You will synthesize complex data sets into predictable, driver-based forecasting models and develop robust financial models to forecast and understand the revenue, cost, profitability, and ROI of commercial deals.

What You Will Do

  • Own the core revenue model, serving as the foundational baseline for annual and quarterly planning processes
  • Ensure seamless alignment between sales/marketing targets, operational capacity, and company-wide financial goals
  • Synthesize complex data sets into predictable, driver-based forecasting models
  • Develop robust financial models to forecast and understand the revenue, cost, profitability, and ROI of commercial deals
  • Quantify deal impacts on critical SaaS/business metrics, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and Gross Margin
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly reporting packages by owning the narrative of commercial deal performance and gross margin storylines
  • Evaluate the financial viability and expected returns on major GTM investments and resource allocations
  • Perform rigorous post-mortem ROI analyses for GTM investments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform future capital allocation

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or GTM/Sales Finance
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS company is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective communication skills at all levels within the company
  • Proven ability to deliver change, improve and streamline processes, drive efficiency, and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, constantly evolving environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

Nice to Have

  • Startup/scaleup experience
  • Experience with GTM investments and resource allocations
  • Knowledge of SaaS/business metrics, including ARR and Gross Margin
  • Certification in finance or a related field
