Senior Forward Deployed Accountant

About the Role

The role involves working directly with customers, understanding their needs, and implementing tailored solutions to enhance their accounting operations. Your expertise in accounting and finance, coupled with your technical skills, will be crucial in diagnosing operational bottlenecks, evaluating financial processes, and identifying opportunities for automation. You will lead transformation engagements, guide stakeholders through workflow redesign and change management, and drive the adoption and expansion of AI Agents within these organizations.

As part of FloQast, you will be expected to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success and Account Management, to ensure the success of our customers. Your ability to influence product direction, participate in early feature evaluations, and contribute to strategic initiatives will be invaluable in advancing the Transform roadmap and long-term growth.

What You Will Do

• Architect, deploy, and operationalize AI Agents to automate complex accounting processes, strengthening internal controls and accelerating financial processes.
• Lead high-impact transformation engagements with enterprise accounting teams to identify areas for improvement and implement AI Agent solutions.
• Engage directly with CFOs, Controllers, and other stakeholders to drive adoption and expansion of AI Agents.
• Perform deep technical troubleshooting, including reviewing and editing Python scripts, writing SQL queries for integrations, and diagnosing configuration issues across systems.
• Serve as the functional and technical escalation point for complex issues involving integrations, data flows, and automation logic.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Account Management teams to identify low-adoption or at-risk accounts and develop recovery plans.
• Design and deliver targeted adoption programs centered around successful AI Agent deployment and improved business outcomes.
• Influence product direction by delivering actionable insights to the Product team and participating in early feature evaluations.
• Provide leadership and quality assurance for implementation partners to ensure consistency and compliance with Transform's methodology.
• Travel as needed to customer sites for hands-on deployment, training, and adoption workshops.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and ambassador for the Transform product line, educating customers and internal teams on strategic value and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, controllership, or consulting roles focused on accounting and finance functions.
• Deep understanding of core accounting operations, with a background in accounting or finance required (CPA preferred).
• Proven ability to evaluate, design, and deploy workflow or process automation within accounting or finance environments.
• Strong technical foundation with working knowledge of SQL, APIs, and data flow concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize issues across integrations, data pipelines, and automation workflows.
• Skilled in leading working sessions with Controllers, Accounting Managers, or RevOps teams.
• Strong ability to synthesize complex problems into actionable solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python scripting and SQL query writing.
• Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems and financial management software.
• Certification in accounting or a related field (e.g., CPA, CMA).
• Experience working in a consulting or customer-facing role, with a proven track record of driving customer success.
